In a unique public-private partnership, the College’s students have access to many university facilities and services, such as athletics, intramural sports, some health services and recreational facilities. Although the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is a private, investor owned, free-standing, independently operated and licensed college, it is affiliated with New Mexico State University (NMSU) and our students enjoy the student life and campus community benefits that come with a major public research university. The Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine is the only medical college in the United States with a mission addressing healthcare in the Southwestern United States and its border with Northern Mexico.
